Run in England – Successful start for beginners running group
A number of parents have asked about getting fit and doing some running while their children are training with us on Tuesday evenings; and we were delighted that our partnership with Run in England, which is England Athletics’ community based running project, made such a successful start on Tuesday 10 August.
Run in England gives everyone an opportunity to get active and begin running for fun and fitness. It is accessible to everyone – men and women of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities.
Run in England leaders Sarah Hinton and Lisa Moore started a 10 week beginners programme for us this week. Eight parents attended and we are expecting a few more next week. The sessions will run from 6.15 to 7.15pm each week – to give you time to sign your children in and collect them again afterwards – and beginners can still join over the next two or three weeks.
Why not give it a try? The 10 week programme would be ideal if you are thinking about the Pilgrims Hospices 5k Fun Run on Sunday 26th September.
