Thanet Athletics Club

We are delighted to report that seven club members – Adam Jacques, Alice Fox, Chantelle Bailey, Leon King, Maddy Johnson, Tanya Bailey (all Under 13s) and Diana Adegoke (Under 15) – have been selected to represent Kent at the Aviva Sportshall South East Regional Final at Burgess Hill, West Sussex on Sunday 12 February.

The athletes were selected after their performances at the Kent Sportshall Athletics County Championships at Tonbridge in December, when Alice, Chantelle, Maddy and Tanya won four gold, three silver and two bronze medals between them; Diana won two gold and a silver medal, and Adam won gold in the shot.  Leon is selected as a replacement for a Bexley athlete who has been forced to withdrew.

With eight Under 11s representing Kent at their own Regional Final at the weekend, that makes 15 Thanet AC athletes selected for Kent in sportshall athletics this year – more than any other club.
