20 medals and trophies for club athletes
There were some excellent performances by athletes from Thanet Athletics Club at the Thanet Primary Schools Cross-Country League meeting at Hartsdown Leisure Centre on Saturday, with 26 top ten finishes across the eight races, and club athletes winning three gold, three silver and three bronze medals from the eight races. Thanet Athletics Club athletes also won 11 of the 24 championship trophies, including two gold, five silver and four bronze.

Year 4 Girls 1k – 2nd Katie Burton (Upton) 4:00.
Year 4 Boys 1k – 3rd Harry Lutz (St Saviour’s) 3:49.
Year 5 Girls 1.5k – 1st Hannah Denny (Upton) 6:16; 2nd Laura Crome – (St Peter) 6:19.
Year 5 Boys 1.5k – 3rd Matthew Bouldin (St Saviour’s) 5:53.
Year 6 Girls 1.5k – 2nd Alice Fox (Upton) 5:54.
2009/10 Championship
Year 3 Girls – 1st Maisie Macartney (Minster) 299 points; 3rd Mia Hillyard (Palm Bay) 294.
Year 4 Girls – 2nd Katie Burton (Upton) 297; 3rd Leah Henniker (St Nicholas-at-Wade) 287.
