Secondary Schools Championships a massive success
The Thanet Secondary Schools Athletics Championships held yesterday (Thursday) at The Marlowe Academy was a massive success, with hundreds of young people competing in the 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 4 x 100m, high jump, long jump, triple jump, discus, javelin and shot putt events.
The event was hosted and organized by James Bridge and Carrie James of The Marlowe Academy. Thanet Athletics Club supplied the medals and trophies, which were presented by Jack Green, friend and supporter of Thanet Athletics Club, winner of the 400m hurdles at the England Junior Championships on Sunday 20 June and qualifier for the World Junior Championships in Canada at the end of July.
Results will be published as soon as they are available, but we are delighted to report that Thanet Athletics Club members Georgina Anderson, Tamara Anderson, Sophie Clayton and Jake Davies won their respective events.
