Despite a very turbulent year, and not so kind weather conditions, Seven Athletes from Thanet Athletics Club competed in various events at the Kent Championships held at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford on the 8th and 9th of May 2021. A host of Athletes from all over the County attended, proving the first meeting of the year to be very popular, so the Thanet Athletes were well up against it. This weekend sees 7 of our best athletes at Thanet AC compete in their season opening event, The County Championships, at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford this weekend. Conner Neal, George Seery, Chloe Williams, Sophia Richardson, Millie Vas, Eve Seery and Poppy Rowland-Hill all take their places in a well attended 2 days of high quality athletics where they will be looking to hopefully bring back a few medals with them as well as some good performances. Now that Thanet AC are back up and running we have our U11 Training sessions starting this Friday (7th May). These sessions take place from 5-6pm and are filled with lots of fun as well as learning the basics of Track & Field Athletics. The season is starting to take shape with competitions filling up most weekends all the way up until late September. There are numerous leagues starting such as the Kent Young Athletes League and Senior Athletes League, as well as the various County, South of England and National Events.
