Volunteering Opportunities

Thanet AC runs off of volunteers!

Our coaches and committee members are all hard-working volunteers, without whom the club could not run!

As a club, we are always welcoming of new volunteers! Whether that is for coaching, committee or officiating during competitions.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please out the form and let us know what you are interested in trying!

further information regarding what we offer our volunteers can be seen below:

Thanks for submitting!

What we can offer:

As a volunteer club, there are many roles that the club can offer.

Coaching:

Many of our coaches started as volunteers at our club with no experience!

Thanet AC aims to help individuals progress their own knowledge within coaching no matter their starting point!

If you are interested in coaching, we have developed pathways to help build you experience, confidence and knowledge! You will get a chance to talk and learn from our other coaches, and from there work towards you assistance coaching licence and  your coaching licence.

If there is a specific event or age group you are interested in coaching, please feel free to state this in the contact form above.

Officiating:

When the club competes in competitions, often we must provide officials (track and field if able) to allow our athletes to compete. It is therefore, very important to maintain our officials at the club.

At Thanet AC we strive to provide good officials, our most notable performances from Tim  Williams  who has been selected to officiate in the commonwealth games 2022 and Chloe Williams, twice winner of the Kent young official of the year award and has officiated at the London World Championships in 2017!

If you are interested in learning more about the different types of officiating (track and field) and how you can become involved, please feel free to speak to any of our committee members or fill out the contact form above!

Committee:

Our committee is made up of athletes, coaches and parents who volunteer to help organise everything from training, social media, club events and more!

The committee aims to maintain a welcoming and friendly environment within the club as well as ensuring the club runs as smoothly as possible.

We still have roles within the committee we would love to be able to fill including:

  • An under 18 athlete representative for the 2024 season.

  • Social Media Team - we would be looking for at least 2 people.

  • Anyone with photography experience or interest.
